I am a Cape Town based certified dog and cat behaviourist who is passionate about animals and the relationship between humans and their pets. As a COAPE Diploma graduate I only use modern, scientifically proven, gentle but also realistic methods to motivate and reward both pet and owner to effect positive behaviour change. Let me analyse any behaviour or training-related challenges that you may have and create a custom treatment plan for you, at reasonable rates and during flexible hours.
The rates below are applicable per visit
After chatting with you on WhatsApp (free of charge) to get an overview of the case, I come to your home to perform a full analysis of the animal's problem behaviour, emotional state, environment, typical routine, history and social context. If the problem behaviour is only present outside of the home, I will perform the analysis there. I explain why the animal is performing the way it is and what treatment can be performed immediately and what requires a more long-term plan. I then send recap notes of the agreed plan on WhatsApp for your quick reference and provide support via text or voice-notes. Sometimes a follow-up appointment is recommended (but not mandatory) as a checkpoint and to refine the plan.
As animals are also individuals with emotions, habits, likes and dislikes as well as environmental factors acting on them, every case is unique. My goal however is to give advice on behaviour modification that is practical and realistic and keeps both the pet and human motivated.
Once I've established the animal's motivations behind the problem behaviour, I use scientifically proven, fun, gentle but also realistic methods to modify the animal's behaviour to a more contextually appropriate one. I approach cases with optimism and a rational and calm demeanour, which gives both the animal and their human a sense of comfort.

I graduated with a COAPE Diploma (distinction) in companion animal behaviour in 2021 and have been practicing as a behaviourist ever since. I have also worked in animal shelters since 2017, studying, socialising and pairing the animals as well as enriching their lives both in the shelter and after their adoption into domestic homes.
